Every day is made up of moments.
Some moments just lead us to the next moment. Some moments will alter the next moment. Some moments take your breath away.
Just breathe.
Something that comes so natural that our bodies just do it, while we're on autopilot. We don't usually think about it. Yet, in moments that steal our breath we have to remind ourselves to inflate our lungs, again and again.
Take a breath. Just breathe.
From a moment so joyous that could never feel any better and your breath was stolen away. To the moments that hit so hard, you just can't get the air you desperately need.
Breathe.
A deep breath. In; one, two, three. Out; one, two, three. Close your eyes and wait for the calm. But the calm doesn't come. The tears roll down your cheeks.
Okay, breathe.
Even when you can't, breathe.
When facing your fears, breathe.
Dancing with the devil, breathe.
When you're so happy it hurts, breathe.
It's something that we all take for granted until we're facing our very last breaths. The beauty that is to breathe.
Breathe deep into your lungs. Feel that rush of oxygen in those veins, everything feels better when it's saturating your blood.
Breathe.
Until you can't anymore. Just breathe.
When your chest is tight and your knees want to give out. Step back and breathe.
When you've cried your eyes dry and your stomach is doing backflips. Just breath.
In and out. Breathe.
Focus on any ray of sunshine you can find in the moment and breathe.
For these moments are only temporary. It won't always feel this bad.
Breathe.
Wait for the moment to pass. Just be still and breathe.
Open your eyes. And continue to breathe.
And when you finally catch your breath, waste not another moment. Go forth. There are many more moments waiting just up ahead.
